Amanda Gorman

Poet Amanda S. C. Gorman is an activist that is well known for her inaugural speech welcoming President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris into the White House January 2021. 

Despite the fact that many people would mistake Ms. Gorman for her a British or Nigerian Immigrant; Clarksville, Texas and Holly Springs, Mississippi is said to be a benefactor of Ms. Gordon's environment. She often speaks with such eloquence and admiration for her mother; a grade school teacher. 

Ms. Gorman is the first person to be named as a "National Youth Poet Laureate". Her award-winning writings focuses on issues of oppression, feminism and other community issues.
